Movers Brisbane is a removalist business operating in Brisbane, Queensland. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect when you ask us for a quote or book a move, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what you can do if you want to see it, change it or have it removed.

Because of our size, we may be a small business operator under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and not strictly bound by the Australian Privacy Principles. We have chosen to follow the Australian Privacy Principles anyway, and this policy is written around them.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote and run your move. Through the quote form on this website, that is:

• the suburb or postcode you are moving from and moving to;
• how many bedrooms you are moving;
• your preferred moving date;
• your full name, email address and phone number.

We also keep what you tell us afterwards by phone or email — access details, lift bookings, parking, awkward items, and the addresses we need to turn up on the day. We do not collect sensitive information such as health or financial records.

What happens when you submit the quote form

When you submit the quote form, the details you enter are sent to us so we can prepare your quote. Nothing else happens to them — they are not passed to advertisers or added to any marketing list you have not asked to join.

Why we collect it

We use your information to prepare and send your quote, answer your questions, confirm and schedule your booking, plan the crew and truck for the day, contact you around the move, and issue your invoice and keep the business records we are required to keep. If you ask us not to contact you again, we will stop.

How it is stored and who can see it

Your details are held in our business email and booking records, and access is limited to the people at Movers Brisbane who need it to quote or run your job. Our email and website hosting providers process and store this information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes; some may store data on servers outside Australia. We keep your information only as long as we need it, and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We would only disclose it outside the business where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to deal with a claim relating to your move.

Website analytics

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It is cookieless and the figures we see are aggregated — page views and referrers, not individuals. We do not use advertising trackers or build profiles of visitors.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong or out of date, or ask us to delete it. Email or call us and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first. If we cannot give you access or cannot delete something — records we are legally required to keep, for example — we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first. Tell us what happened and we will investigate and come back to you in writing. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
