Movers Brisbane is a removalist business operating in Brisbane, Queensland. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect when you ask us for a quote or book a move, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what you can do if you want to see it, change it or have it removed.

Because of our size, we may be a small business operator under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and not strictly bound by the Australian Privacy Principles. We have chosen to follow the Australian Privacy Principles anyway, and this policy is written around them.

What we collect

Through the quote form on this website, we collect:

• the address, suburb or postcode you are moving from and moving to;
• how many bedrooms you are moving;
• your preferred moving date;
• your full name, email address and phone number.

When the form is sent, we also record some technical details about it: your IP address, your browser and device type, your approximate location as estimated from your IP address (city, region and country), the page you arrived on, and how you found us, such as the website, search engine or ad campaign that brought you here. We use these to see which advertising leads to real enquiries, to detect and block spam, and to keep an accurate record of each enquiry. Form submissions that fail our checks are recorded in the same way.

We also keep what you tell us afterwards by phone or email — access details, lift bookings, parking, awkward items, and the addresses we need to turn up on the day. We do not collect sensitive information such as health or financial records.

What happens when you submit the quote form

When you submit the quote form, the details you enter are emailed to our team, saved in our enquiry database, and used to send you an automatic confirmation email so you know we have them. They are not passed to advertisers or added to any marketing list you have not asked to join.

Why we collect it

We use your information to prepare and send your quote, answer your questions, confirm and schedule your booking, plan the crew and truck for the day, contact you around the move, and issue your invoice and keep the business records we are required to keep. If you ask us not to contact you again, we will stop.

How it is stored and who can see it

Your details are held in our business email, our enquiry database and our booking records, and access is limited to the people at Movers Brisbane who need it to quote or run your job. Our enquiry database is hosted by Supabase on servers in Sydney, Australia. Our email and website hosting providers process and store this information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes; some may store data on servers outside Australia. We keep your information only as long as we need it, and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not pass your name, email address, phone number or move details to anyone for marketing. We would only disclose that information outside the business where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to deal with a claim relating to your move. Advertising measurement is the one exception to what leaves this site, and it is described under Advertising below.

Website analytics

This site uses two analytics tools to count visits and see which pages people read: Vercel Web Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics. Both are privacy-focused products, both are cookieless, and neither is used to build profiles of visitors.

Vercel Web Analytics is provided by our website host. Ahrefs Web Analytics is a privacy-focused analytics product from Ahrefs that also runs without cookies. It loads a small script on each page and records aggregate visit data — things like page views, which pages were visited, where visitors arrived from, and general device and country information. The figures we see from both tools are aggregated totals, not individuals. Neither tool is used to track you across other websites.

Advertising

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and this site loads the Meta Pixel so we can tell which of those ads lead to real enquiries. The pixel is provided by Meta Platforms. It sets cookies, records the pages you view here, and reports back when you send us a quote request or tap our call or text link.

What we send Meta is deliberately limited. We report that an enquiry happened, and nothing about who made it. Your name, email address, phone number, addresses and move details are never sent to Meta. We do not use advanced matching, and we do not upload customer lists.

Meta may combine what the pixel reports with its own record of your activity, including on other websites, and may use it to show you our ads or measure them. That processing is Meta's, not ours, and is covered by the Meta Privacy Policy. You can limit it in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, and browser tracking-protection settings or an ad blocker will usually stop the pixel loading at all.

Chat assistant

The chat button on this site opens Zoey, an AI assistant provided by ZoeyAI. Zoey answers questions about our services and can help you start a quote. Anything you type into the chat, including any contact or move details you choose to share, is processed by ZoeyAI to answer you and is shared with Movers Brisbane so we can follow up. Please do not share payment card details or other sensitive information in the chat.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong or out of date, or ask us to delete it. Email or call us and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first. If we cannot give you access or cannot delete something — records we are legally required to keep, for example — we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first. Tell us what happened and we will investigate and come back to you in writing. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
